We have collaborated with Monocle to produce this special solid Maple wood umbrella. The dark green umbrella is hand-crafted from a single piece of polished maple with a continuous shaft/handle, industrial frame and bronze ferrule.
The wood has been stained, polished and varnished. We've used a luxury poly fabric from Italy which is very hardwearing and repels water perfectly. The panels have been cut by hand into eight triangles in opposite directions to make full use of the fabric and allow minimum wastage. We've carefully stitched them together to form the canopy which is then threaded on to a very traditional, industrial-strength frame. The umbrella features a very subtle white printed Monocle logo on the outside and collaboration descriptor on the inside.
